I do not currently accept children under the age of 5 for private lessons. Other options are available.

Stroke breakdown, explanation and demonstration are my forte.

Vast experience in coping with fear related to swimming. I teach you your relationship with water, how to breathe and how to manipulate your way through water. I teach on your schedule, not mine. Fear is not rational. If it were, no one would be afraid. The majority of my adult students have come to me afraid of water. Do not let it stand in your way.

Experience with Autism. (A conversation is required prior to beginning lessons.)

Cancellation Policy

If a 7 day notice is given the lesson will be changed with no charge. If a student gives more than 24 hours notice, but less than 7 days, the lesson can be rescheduled for another time during the week that is convenient at no charge.  This is completely subject to my availability.  If I do not have any free time the lesson is forfeited.  A lesson week is Monday - Sunday.  No matter what day the lesson is normally scheduled the make-up must be completed by the following Sunday or within 5 days, whichever comes first.  If a 24 hour notice is not given the lesson will be forfeited.  There are no refunds for lessons.

If a student is late without speaking with me prior I will wait for 15 minutes.  At that time the lesson will be forfeited.  Regardless what time the student shows up the lesson will end at its normal time.

What to Bring

You should have a standard bathing suit, a towel and a lock to secure your clothing.  I recommend Swim Outlet for most swim purchases because they usually have good deals.  I will discuss what kind of goggles and swim cap you should wear when we meet.  Goggles aid you to put your face in the water and maintain your ability to focus when looking under water.  A swim cap will protect your hair from the chemicals used to maintain a pool and it will keep your hair from clogging the pool drain.  Please wait until we have met before purchasing these items.  If you have the tendency to be cold you may want to purchase a light-weight shortie-wetsuit.  You can find excellent deals at Wiley Ski.  (Hit wet/drysuits, then your category to find deals.)  If you decide to purchase a wetsuit it should be snug in fit.
